2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION - Direct Access Bill
The 2021 legislative session in Alabama starts on February 2, 2021. APTA Alabama will again introduce a Direct Access bill to improve patient access to physical therapy services. This bill is the same bill that passed the Senate Health Committee in the 2020 legislative session before COVID-19 brought the session to a halt.
Talking Points:
- This bill has been agreed upon by MASA and BCBS.
- This bill passed the Senate Health Committee last session unanimously before COVID-19 brought the session to a halt.
- This bill does not increase PT scope of practice.
