Haley Cochran-Gill, PT, DPT, GCS
- Haley is a PT from Birmingham, Alabama who received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Exercise Science from Auburn University, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Samford University in 2020.
- Haley has worked primarily in acute care and skilled nursing settings as a PT, with a particular interest in the cardiopulmonary and geriatric populations. She received her ABPTS Board Specialization in Geriatrics in 2022. Currently she serves as an Assistant Professor in Samford University’s DPT program and continues to work clinically at Grandview Medical Center and UAB’s Specialty Care Unit. She has been a clinical instructor for several years and is a Level 1 APTA Certified Clinical Instructor. Additionally, she is actively pursuing her board specialization in cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy to continue her pursuit for excellence in clinical practice and teaching.
- Haley is currently laying the foundation for an Acute Care Special Interest Group (SIG) in the state of Alabama. She recognizes the critical role that acute care PTs and PTAs play within the interdisciplinary team in the fast-paced and dynamic healthcare landscape. She has identified gaps in support for clinicians and upcoming students with interest in this setting. The purpose of this SIG would be to provide a means through which PTs, PTAs, and students can network, collaborate, and promote the advancement of the profession through creation of clinician support systems, continuing education, advocacy events, and research opportunities.
- She and her husband have been married for 3 years and have two dogs, Nala and Snoopy. Haley’s favorite hobbies include trying new coffee shops and traveling with her husband.
